How commercial hauling in
Portland works

In Portland, commercial garbage and recycling service operates in an open market. Businesses (including multifamily residences of more than 5 units) choose any permitted garbage and recycling company and negotiate a price. For complete details click here

Our customers love us!

Due to our level of service and partnership, we have earned repeat business and renewed contracts with a number of local large and small institutions. Both through stringent RFP processes where Trashco has been graded against our competitors, and through reputation and word of mouth, Trashco is proud to provide waste management services for the City of Portland facilities, Multnomah County facilities, Lewis & Clark College, Portland State University, Portland Community College, OHSU, and a variety of businesses ranging from small restaurants to large property managers, office buildings to grocery stores.

Multnomah County has repeatedly selected Trashco as their waste management company of choice for all County facilities. During that time we have implemented a number of successful programs that have reduced the carbon footprint, simplified recycling, and diverted food waste from their waste stream.

Sign a contract? No!

At Trashco, we work on a handshake agreement, we don't require a signed contract. Other haulers may require a binding contract. Before you sign, you should know most contracts:

  • Don't lock in your rate, it can change any time
  • Will automatically renew ... forever
  • Require first right of refusal even when you want to cancel, and/or charge a penalty if you want to change haulers
  • Charge additional fees such as fuel surcharges, administration fees, environmental fees

At Trashco, we're committed to you, to our community and to providing great service! If you're not happy with our services, you have the ability to change waste management service providers at any time.
